How does rehabilitation work?
When we injure ourselves we lose normal function of the affected area, making it weak from under use. Over time we adapt the way we stand, sit, walk and run to ease the pain. These adaptations settle in, changing our posture and causing us to move in ways that are less efficient and may lead to chronic injuries. Muscles that are being underused become weak, and those overused become tight and painful. Rehabilitation helps to correct these changes with the goal of restoring normal function.
